Company expands its support of DHS mission

HERNDON, VA, December 9, 2013 - UNICOM Government, Inc., (UGI) a leading provider of IT solutions supporting the missions of government agencies, today announced that the Office of Procurement Operations (OPO) of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has awarded UGI as one of the fifteen primes that will compete to provide technology development, implementation and maintenance services under the Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge Solutions II (EAGLE II) contract to the Department. The award spans the next five (5) years, with an additional two-year option period, without requiring requalification, and has a maximum contract value of $22 billon.  UNICOM Government is a division of the multinational IT solution provider UNICOM Global.

EAGLE II is the next generation of an Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract to deliver solutions in three functional service categories.  UGI received an award in the Unrestricted Track of Functional Category 1 – Service Delivery, which provides a full range of services and solutions in support of developing, implementing and maintaining technology to support the DHS mission and business functions across the entire lifecycle of a program.

“The award of the EAGLE II contract to UNICOM Government underscores the continued confidence DHS has in UGI,” said Corry Hong, founder and CEO of UNICOM Global. “This award potentially means the addition of new jobs in the tech sector in both the federal space and throughout California to support a variety of new programs and solutions. The effective support of the mission of Homeland Security is of paramount importance, and this award increases our reach which has already included security at Miami International Airport, the Port of Oakland and other ports of entry and critical facilities through the United States.”

The UNICOM Government team has implemented mission-critical solutions to the Department of Homeland Security since its inception following the events of September 11, 2001. This has included major initiatives including solutions for Customs Border Patrol (CBP), the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

UNICOM Government, formerly known as GTSI (NASDAQ: GTSI) was acquired by UNICOM Global in 2012, and following the acquisition the new organization has been strengthened with the financial foundation, depth of relationships and increased commitment to technical excellence of UNICOM Global.
